AxF Material

AxF is a file format that encodes digital material representations, including those of materials measured using X-Rite material scanning technologies. Patchwork 3D supports version 1.3 of AxF files.

Note

Please note that AxF CarPaint (CPA2) type files can be exported in AXF format if they are not modified. If they are modified, only the export in KMT format is supported.

Warning

Overriding a material with an AXF type file consumes a lot of GPU and RAM memories.

Notice

New Features in Patchwork 3D 2021.1 X5

You can change the base color of an AxF (CPA2) material from Matter by right-clicking on the surface that has an AxF material or from the Materials Library by right-clicking on the AxF material.

The parameters to be adjusted are as follows:

  • Hue Shift

  • Saturation

  • Exposure

  • Contrast

Note

Please note that these parameters are relative to the original color of the material. A saturation of 1, for example, corresponds to the original color of the AxF, if you decrease this value it decreases the saturation and if you increase this value it increases the saturation. The reasoning is the same for the other parameters.
